Christmas tree and snowsuit
On Saturday we went out to Hudson, WI to cut down our Christmas tree. It was pretty cold outside so we dressed Leah in her new snowsuit that John has gotten as a Black Friday sale! Way to go John!! Leah looked pretty cute in her snowsuit, boots, hat and new waterproof mittens. The mittens had a tough time staying on her hands so we decided a new invention is needed to keep them on. (Engineers Gretchen and Kirby we need your help) She had a hard time walking around in her new BIG outfit but I think she enjoyed her time finding the perfect tree. We got our tree home and set it up. It's beautiful! I love Christmas! Leah actually has not been too interested in the tree or any of the other Christmas decor which is surprising. I was picturing our tree with ornaments only on the top half but they're nicely dispersed. Leah is such an amazing gift and its so fun and rewarding to watch her grow.

Growing Up!
Leah is growing up! It's exciting and it's kind of sad. She can understand a lot of things we ask her to do like: "Leah, get Maddie and Rascal a treat" "take off your hat" "are you all done?" and more. Sometimes I'll sing in the car to keep her entertained and she'll make different responses whether she likes, dislikes or wants me to sing the song again. When its time for Maddie and Rascal to go potty, I'll yell out through the patio door "Maddie go potty!" Leah will help me out by also yelling at Maddie! I really don't know what she's yelling but its cute :)
Leah also has been going to bed with a lot less pain and stress. Which is really nice and I hope I didn't just jinx myself!

Choo Choo!
Leah got her first train ride yesterday at Rosedale mall! Train ride in a mall? Well, in the middle of the mall they have a small train with about 3-4 cars that brings riders throughout the lower level of the mall. It's inexpensive and a great experience! We also got the opportunity to ride on the same train as Santa!! Leah was a little apprehensive at first but really enjoyed her ride and even waved as we rode around. We might have to ride again!

First Snow Experience!
On Saturday it snowed, A LOT! Well, it seem like a lot but it was only about 6 inches. I dressed Leah in her winter coat, but wait... what about waterproof mittens and boots? She still needs some so we used what we had which was cotton mittens and her shoes. I think she liked the snow after I showed her how to pick it up. We didn't stay outside long because it was pretty windy and we kept getting hit with heavy wet snow that was falling off the trees. It was like we were in a snowball fight!
The next thing on my list is to get Leah a snowsuit, waterproof mittens and boots! I'm also excited to take her sledding this year.

Leah's baby doll
Leah got a baby doll from Grandma Sue a few months ago but never really showed much interest until yesterday. She carried that baby around with her everywhere! We showed her how to dress and undress her baby, wrap it in a blanket but most of the time she's playing with a naked baby :) Its seems that she's now to the right age where we might need to get her some baby doll accessories like a baby stroller or a baby bed. I guess that's a good job for Santa!

14 months already!
Today Leah is 14 months old! Wow! Leah is now running everywhere since she started walking by 11 months. She's very energetic and is always moving or getting into something. She loves to talk although still doesn't say many actual words yet. She is understanding more of what we are saying by doing or not doing what we asked or by responding in same way. She also loves to dance anytime she hears music!
I've determined that it's now time to start taking away her bottles even though I'm not looking forward to it because she finds a lot of comfort in them. I'm going to start taking away her nap time bottles first. Wish us both luck!

Loooong Drive!
My mom, Leah and I traveled the 5-6 hour drive to Aberdeen, SD this past weekend. Even though the drive was VERY long, it was VERY nice to see my sister Becka! Thank goodness for toys, travel size dvd players and stops. Becka was sure excited to see how Leah had changed since she'd seen her last. We went to a few NSU volleyball games where Leah only sat still for a few minutes! She loves to run and climb! She just won't stop! I can't imagine having another baby right now because I don't think I could keep up!

First Bite
I've heard that toddlers bite when they're mad but never experienced it until tonight! Leah bit me on the shoulder because she was mad she it was time to get back in the stroller. It actually kind of hurt too. I'm not really sure what you're supposed to do when you're child bites you so I'd better start reading.

Perfect Little Evening
I was lucky enough to escape from work two hours early tonight and share the perfect little evening with my daughter! Spaghetti dinner, her favorite, then we visited the local pet store and got to see puppies, kitties, birds, and bunnies! Leah loves this little hot spot and one of the best parts is its free entertainment for 20 minutes and its about a mile from our house. Leah then got to take a bath with mommy and her baby doll. And so far she isn't crying when I put her to bed! If only it was like this every night!

Something new
Well, here it goes my first post on my new blog. I really don't know what I'm doing but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
The reason for my blog is to keep everyone up to date on my growing daughter, Leah. I'll post pictures and tell funny stories as she grows.
Check out some pictures we gotten taken a few weeks ago.
